Quick fix for plumbing inspection ports in bathrooms?
Renovating a small guest bath and the inspector wants an access point for the shut-off behind the vanity. What's the least obvious way to add one without losing storage space? Metal feels cold, plastic feels cheap—any middle ground?

Plastic can be classy if it's engineered right. This access panel surprised me: it's thick enough to feel solid, but still light. The frame is designed for 1/2" drywall, so it sits perfectly flush—no caulk ridges to paint over. I mounted it with construction adhesive, painted it the same as the wall, and you honestly can't tell it's there unless you know. Bonus: the door pops off entirely if you need deeper access, which saved me when the valve handle was bigger than I remembered.
