Who We Are

Our purpose is: No neighbor will go hungry, feel alienated, alone or powerless.
The Friendly Center is located in a needy area of Toledo and serves a large part of the inner city.  The Friendly Center has been serving families since 1923.  The Friendly Center is a faith based, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization serving the North Toledo, Ohio area. The Friendly Center operates in collaboration with the national United Methodist Women with offices based in New York. There are nearly 100 National Mission Institutions supported by United Methodist Women Mission. These institutions empower adults, care for children, educate youth, look after the neglected, advocate for social justice issues, create economic opportunities and improve neighborhoods. The Toledo Friendly Center is one of their missions. The Methodist Connection continues on the local level with support from the West Ohio Conference plus many of Maumee Watershed and North Plains district churches.
